SANYO has a long history in the production and sales of mobile
handsets that started in April 1994 in Japan. In September 1998 SANYO
launched its first CDMA handset in the US and in November 2003 the first
UMTS / GSM handset started in Japan.

Tell me more about SANYO’s philosophy?
SANYO means three oceans – specifically, the Pacific,
Atlantic and Indian oceans – and symbolizes the company’s
global perspective. SANYO has a rich history in creating and delivering
technology-based products to every corner of the globe.
The founder of the company, Toshio lue once said "Our belief is
to be like the sun that shines on all people without regard to race,
religion or difference in wealth." This belief is reflected today
in the management philosophy.

What does SANYO do for the environment?
Respecting the environment and actively protecting the nature are fixed
parts of our company policy. Our products and actions are a proof of
this. Recent innovations for example include the bio-degradable CD-ROM,
as well as the ‘Solar Ark’, one of the world’s biggest
solar energy producing power plants. And in 2001 SANYO launched a washing
machine featuring zero detergent course.
