What is the maximum size of e-mails or attachments I can receive with
the S750?
When sending a message from your S750 you can send an MMS or e-mail
of up to a maximum size of 300kb. This size includes the attachments
as well as the message body / text. That means that message + attachments
must not be larger than 300 kb.
"In case of receiving a message this may be different, since an
e-mail or MMS is sent from a different handset or PC - then the maximum
file size depends on device of the sending person. For example, when
sending an e-mail from another handset (non-SANYO) the message itself
could be 300kb, but there may be a hidden application code that makes
the transfer size large than 300kb.

When I write an SMS with accentuated characters, the maximum size of
an SMS seems to be lower than 160 characters.
One SMS can normally contain up to 160 one-byte characters (letters
like a, b, c, etc). However, if a message contains two-byte characters
such as à, ç, ê, ä, ü, etc, only up to
70 characters are accepted in one SMS. Therefore, if your text is longer
than that, your message will be divided into several SMS.

Why does a long SMS provoke several acknowledgements?
When sending a long message, the message will be divided into several
SMS, which contain up to 160 characters each, if the original message
has only one-byte characters (letters like a, b, c, etc). For a message
which contains two-byte characters such as à, ç, ê,
ä, ü, etc., it will be divided in several SMS which contain
up to 70 characters.
In both cases, there will be more than one receipt notice, depending
on how many SMS the message was divided in.
How do I know when a message is divided into several SMS?
When you have finished writing your message, the number of divided SMS
is shown at the top-right of the screen, for example “SMS(2)”.
In this case your message will be divided and sent in two SMS.
Furthermore, when drafting a message the number of characters is shown
at bottom-right of the screen.
